Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 6-3/4-Quart Round Wide French Oven, Dijon

It's like this..., You know when you pay a lot of money for something and when you're driving home with it or the email confirmation comes thru that you now own it you kind of say "Yikes, what did I just do?". That's what happens when you drop several hundred dollars on this pot. But then the magic begins and you soon realize, wow, this could be the best cookware investment I ever made. Everthing comes out, well, perfect. Cleans in a snap. Looks like you even paid more for it than you actually did. Just buy it.
wide is good, (What's this?) The perfect size. Amazon took care from order to delivery. Any Cook that Wants to be a Chef needs this. Eating good in Cali.
Another winner from Le Creuset, I own a couple of Le Creusets, but this is now my favorite pot. If you had to own one pot, this should be it. I love the width, and use it for stir-fry, risotto, chicken stews, and to mix pasta. It retains the heat very well, so you use less energy. Clean-up is very easy, just soak overnight with warm soapy water. The only con is its weight.
I bought it from TJMaxx for 100$ less than Amazon price...
Wrong product shipped. Dutch Oven is not a Risotto Pot., (What's this?) I ordered a 6.75 quart oval dutch oven as advertised (about 6 inches deep).
Received a Risotto Pot, not an oval french oven, (What's this?) After reading one reviewer's comments about receiving a risotto pot instead of an oval french oven, and seeing some odd change to item description to "risotto" pot after placing the item in my cart, I both called and wrote Amazon to make sure what I was receiving was an 6.75 OVAL FRENCH OVEN. I was assured both in writing and on the phone that an oval 6.75 oven was what was being shipped.

Today I received a round 6.75 risotto pot. After calling, it was apparent that the error in the database powering the shipment/ID of this item had not been resolved by Amazon. Amazon rep tried to be helpful, but couldn't assure me that a replacement item that was also the wrong one--a risotto pot--would not be shipped again. He emailed me a return slip, and I have the chore of getting this big box back to UPS.

Now am without a pot, with a hefty charge against my account, and without a clear idea of how to get this red, oval, french Le Creuset 6 3/4 French Oven. Here's hoping my account will be credited back fast and accurately, but I'm apprehensive.
Excellent Addition To My Kitchen!, This pan is perfect for larger recipes that were too big for my Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 3-1/2-Quart Round French Oven, Caribbean. I love having a beautiful pot that can go from stove to oven to table to fridge - this is perfect for roasts, chicken, Cornish game hens, large side dishes, soup, chili, spaghetti sauce, etc. I have an oval burner on my new stove, but it works great and cooks evenly on my round burners as well. Yes, it is heavy, but that's part of why it cooks so well. It cleans up easily with soap and water; even the crusty baked-on messes wipe right off if you let it soak overnight. I am extremely pleased with this pan and look forward to cooking with it for many years to come.
Best Ever!!, (What's this?) This is not a good pot, it's the best ever! If you are questioning the price, remember that it will most likely be handed down to your grandkids...
Not packaged very well, but a great pot!, (What's this?) Got this as a present for my wife, who's been wanting this for a while.

It arrived not packed very well. The product box was inside a VERY large shipping box, with very little padding. So, it was free to bounce around quite a bit. As a result, one handle was broken (I didn't know you COULD break these things!). Amazon took it back with no hassle whatsoever, even sending the new one immediately even before I sent back the broken one.

The second (replacement) one arrived packaged exactly the same way, so I was afraid it, too, would be broken. However, it was intact, so no problem there. The Le Creuset label stuck on the side of the pot is almost impossible to remove - even with mild solvents. What's that all about? There were also labels stuck to the bottom as well, which strikes me as a dangerous place to put them when some folks might just throw the pot right into the oven without looking at the bottom.

All in all, we're very UNimpressed with the packaging and labelling and the way it was shipped. We are, however, VERY impressed with the pot itself. We're getting a lot of good use out of it.
Great Creuset Pot, (What's this?) I wanted a heavy pot to slow cook chicken and other meats. This fits the bill! The top is heavy and keeps in the moisture.......everything turns out perfectly. The pot arrived perfectly packed, quick delivery......
The best, (What's this?) These pots cook the best of any on the market. The heat is steady and you can't do better in terms of functionality. The price is worth it.

The beautiful, round French oven is perhaps the most well-known of all Le Creuset cookware. Each is individually sand-cast of rugged cast iron, then clad in two coats of hard, colorful enamel. The result? Cookware so durable it's covered by a lifetime warrantee, and so attractive you'll proudly bring it to the table. Cast iron retains and distributes heat evenly, making the pot with its tight-fitting lid especially good for the slow, stovetop simmering of soups and stews. Because the black phenolic lid knob is oven-safe to 400 degrees, the pot and lid can be used to roast meat and potatoes or bake a casserole whose cheesy crust can be browned under the broiler with the lid removed. And, the nonporous enameled pot is handy for marinating meats and storing leftovers in the refrigerator. This particular French oven (some might call it a Dutch oven) with its capacity of 6-3/4 quarts is wider and shallower than the classic Le Creuset model. This enables liquid to evaporate more efficiently and results in a more even baking of rice pilaf, risotto, and pasta dishes. Le Creuset suffuses the exterior in the bright, modern color of your choice, while keeping a more neutral tone on the interior to showcase the cuisine. The enamel resists cracking and staining and is best cared for when the contents are stirred with non-metal utensils. It's also so smooth that food particles tend not to stick, making cleaning by hand or in the dishwasher a snap. Made in France, Le Creuset premium cookware brings joie de vivre to any kitchen it graces.
